Good Friday Service and Corporate Worship Preview

Good Friday Service

Our Good Friday service will take place on Friday evening at 6:30 PM. Let me encourage you to make plans to worship with us. Also, this is a great time to invite a friend, neighbor, co-worker or family member who may not have a place to worship on Friday. We will spend our evening considering all that happened once Jesus entered Jerusalem on Palm Sunday to the time He cried out, “It is finished!” on the hill of Golgotha. It will be a sweet time of remembrance and worship!

Sunday Morning Corporate Worship

This Sunday we will be stepping out of Jonah to consider a text dealing with the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Our text will be Hebrews 13:20-21. This is a text that we often read in our time of benediction at the end of our worship gatherings, and we do so because it contains such tremendous blessings for us to take with us into the world. It is amazing to think that all of the blessings we see in this text (and the sum total of the entire Bible if we are honest) hinges on the resurrection. In other words, if we don’t have the resurrection, or if the resurrection isn’t true, then all of the promises and blessings of the Bible are empty. If we don’t have the resurrection then God is not who He says He is, and the hope of the gospel is a sham. But, praise be to God, we do have the resurrection, the resurrection is true, it really happened. God’s character and nature are not in question and the hope of the gospel is sure, and powerful to save. It will be a joy and privilege to be under God’s Word together on Sunday!
