Week of December 12

This Sunday we will take a brief (2 week) break from the book of Philippians. The sermons for the next couple of weeks will be devoted to the anticipation and realization of the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. It will do our hearts good to gather around the glorious truths surrounding the incarnation of our Lord. And, as we anticipate the second advent of King Jesus, we can take hope in all the promises our God has made and kept. This Sunday we will be going all the way back to the beginning to orient ourselves correctly this Christmas season. Our text will be Genesis 3, with a specific emphasis on Genesis 3:14-15. Long before Isaiah prophesied about a child being born and a son given, God spoke these words of promise in the Garden of Eden. It is in the Garden of Eden where the first glimmer of Christmas is revealed. What a glorious promise it is, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!”.

*Please Note: We will observe the Lord’s Supper together this Sunday.
