Service Preview – Sunday, September 23

Greetings Grace Community Baptist Church!

Last Sunday, James D’Souza helped us to see what God’s Word says regarding the cost of following Christ in Mark 8:34-38. If you were unable to join us, you can listen to the sermon here:

This Sunday we will look forward to hearing God’s Word preached by Davey Davis, Elder from High Pointe Baptist Church in Austin, TX. Davey came to faith in Christ at the age of 24 while listening to sermon podcasts. In 2016, he joined the staff of High Pointe Baptist Church as a Pastoral Assistant. Now Davey serves High Pointe as an Assistant Pastor. Davey earned a Bachelors degree in Finance from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, TX and is currently pursuing a Masters of Divinity through the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. Davey and his wife have one son. Davey gives pastoral oversight to High Pointe’s administration.

Davey will be preaching from James 5:7-11. In this passage, he will help us see that “In order to be patient in suffering, we need to remember that Jesus will come back to end our suffering, and God has good purposes in our suffering.

As you look ahead to Sunday, take time this week to prepare your heart to hear from God’s Word by praying through the passages below and familiarizing yourself with the songs we’ll sing.”
